Knee Replacement Surgery: Women Recover Faster, Men Catch-up Later

Medical News Today (2011-06-30)–Women who undergo knee replacement surgery recover faster, experiencing better return of function and less pain, than do men who have the same surgery, according to a new study published in Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research. This finding held true even though women usually have worse knee function and more severe symptoms before they have knee replacement surgery than do men.
