Weight Loss Diet Can Improve Symptoms of Knee Osteoarthritis

DoctorsLounge (2011-12-21)–People with knee osteoarthritis can experience an improvement in symptoms, including less joint pain and better quality of life, if they follow a weight loss diet, according to the authors of a study from Copenhagen University Hospital (CHH). In particular, “Obese individuals with knee osteoarthritis should be urged to lose weight,” said Robin Christensen, head of the Musculoskeletal Statistics Unit at The Parker Institute at CHH.
