Nanoparticles Increase Osteoporosis Drug Retention in Knee Joint

ScienceDaily (2011-10-26)—Researchers have discovered a unique way to increase the retention of pain-relieving osteoporosis drugs in knee joints—deliver the drugs using nanoparticles. A new study found that 70% of drug nanoparticles remained in the knee joint after one week compared with dispersement of the drug within one to two days when conventional formulations were used.
